Now open Excel, password protect ablank workbook, and save that blank workbook. Now you can open the newly created Excel file, get the aforementionedlines of code, and use them to overwrite the password in the originalfile. It is probably best to use a Hexeditor to make the changes. If thelength of the three strings combined do not match the length of the unknownpassword, using the newly generated strings will corrupt the file. If the string that was generated is shorterthan the original, you may be able to pad the string with trailing 0’s and useit to overwrite the password. If not, keep making new Excel files with known passwords to generate new strings untilyou get one that has the same number of bytes as the unknown password.

There's really nothing that I can think of that can't be sidestepped in some fashion - if you depend on VBA to keep things 'safe', then the simple expedient of disabling macros when the book is opened totally bypasses that.If you were to make all but 1 sheet 'very hidden' and only allow VBA to make the others visible, again - so what: disable macros and use the Show All feature.Workbook and worksheet passwords are pretty easily bypassed in Excel anyhow, but getting past the password for the VBA Project is a bit tougher, but it's all a bunch of tail-chasing of one fashion or another. I made the statement just a few days ago: giveme an Excel workbook that has protection and passwords in use, and in about 5 minutes I can have the whole thing 'exposed' with the tools I have available here: one free one, and one not-so-free to deal with the VBA Project password. So even in Excel, thewhole thing is still 'at risk', just not to the degree it is in other spreadsheet applications that can open one of them. I am free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for everything I do.
VBA Project reset password replace text 600x381 - What to Do When. Like.dotm or.xlsm, which happens to be in an archive format that can.
